- 5 apples
- 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Wash apples and cut into quarters.

2Pare and core them.

3Put sugar and water in a saucepan and heat; when syrup boils, add apples.

4Cover and boil gently until apples are tender.

5Remove apples from syrup; use skimmer or slotted spoon.

6Place fruit in dishes for serving.
