- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. shredded coconut
Directions

1In 2-quart saucepan, melt butter or margarine over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Stir in vanilla.

4Sift together flour, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

5Add to brown sugar mixture with coconut and walnuts.

6Mix well.

7Spread in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch baking pan.

8Bake at 350° about 25 minutes. Cut into bars while warm.

9Remove from pan when cool.

10Makes 36 bars.
