Butterscotch Bread Pudding

- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 slices bread
Directions

1Cook sugar and butter together until brown.

2Heat 2 cups of milk and add to sugar.

3Remove from heat; let stand for about 5 minutes.

4Soak bread in remaining 1/2 cup of milk in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

5Beat the 2 eggs; mix with the sugar mixture.

6Mix in the vanilla and pour over the bread.

7Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

8Serve hot or cold with whipped cream.
