- 4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. Crisco or butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 6 c. flour
Directions

1Mix sugar and shortening together.

2Add beaten eggs.

3Sift flour and cream of tartar with 5 cups flour 2 or 3 times.

4Keep 6th cup of flour to use if needed.

5Add vanilla.

6Make into rolls. Let stand in refrigerator overnight.

7Slice thin and bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
