- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 c. sugar
Directions

1Combine flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, brown sugar and egg yolks in saucepan; mix well.

2Add milk, water, butter and salt.

3Cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.

4Stir in vanilla. Spoon into pie shell.

5Beat egg whites in mixer bowl until soft peaks form.

6Add remaining 1/4 cup sugar gradually, beating until stiff peaks form.

7Spread over top of pie, sealing to edge.

8Bake at 325° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
