- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 baked pie shell
- 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Melt butter; mix in flour and brown sugar.

2Add beaten egg yolks; stir well.

3Add water gradually.

4Cook in double boiler until thick.

5Add vanilla and cool slightly.

6Pour into baked pie shell.

7Beat egg whites, powdered sugar and baking powder until stiff peaks forms.

8Cover pie with meringue.

9Bake in 350° oven until meringue is golden brown.
