  • 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 3 c. milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coconut (optional)

Directions

    Scald milk.

    Mix sugar, flour and eggs together.

    Pour milk over this and cook until thick.

    Add butter, vanilla and half of coconut (if desired).

    Pour into baked pie shells and put meringue on top.

    Add remaining coconut on top.

    Brown in 350° oven.

    Makes 2 pies.
