- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 2 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Melt butter and brown sugar together and cook until a rich brown.

2Add the scalded milk and let heat until sugar is dissolved.

3Beat egg yolks slightly.

4Add cornstarch and pour milk mixture over gradually, stirring constantly.

5Add vanilla.

6Pour into pastry lined pie plate at 450° for 10 minutes, then in a 320° oven, 30 minutes.

7Cover with meringue using the egg whites.
