Cabbage Au Gratin

  • 2 cups cooked cabbage, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar)
  • 2 cups butter bread crumbs

    Cook cabbage 7 minutes in boiling salt water--drain thoroughly.

    Make cream sauce from butter, flour and milk.

    Cook until smooth and thick.

    Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup grated cheese.

    Add sauce with cheese to the cabbage.

    Mix well. Pour into greased casserole, sprinkle top with bread crumbs.

    Bake 20 to 25 minutes in 350 degree oven.

    Serve hot.
