Cabbage Bean Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 small bell pepper, chopped
- 2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, undrained
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes, undrained and chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 to 3 c. cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper
Directions

1In a 5 quart pot, brown beef, sausage, onion and bell pepper. Drain if necessary.

2Add about 4 cups of water, beans, potatoes and seasonings.

3Bring to a boil.

4Reduce to low and simmer 30 to 35 minutes.

5Add cabbage and continue to cook until potatoes are tender and cabbage is done.

6Yields 8 to 10 servings.
