Cabbage Casserole

- 1 large head cabbage
- 1 onion, chopped
- some shredded carrot
- 6 Tbsp. butter, divided
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 8 oz. American cheese, cubed
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 c. dried bread crumbs
Directions

1Cook cabbage until tender; drain.

2Saute onion and 5 tablespoons butter until tender.

3Add soup; mix well.

4Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.

5Remove from heat.

6Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.

7Transfer into ungreased baking dish.

8Stir remaining butter and bread crumbs until lightly coated.

9Sprinkle over casserole.

10Bake uncovered at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until browned.
