Ingredients
- 1 large head cabbage
- 1 onion
- 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 8 oz. American cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
Directions

1Shred cabbage; boil until tender and drain.

2Saute onion in 5 tablespoons butter until tender.

3Add undiluted soup.

4Mix well. Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.

5Remove from heat.

6Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.

7Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish. Melt remaining butter; stir bread crumbs into butter.

8Sprinkle over casserole.

9Bake uncovered at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
