Cabbage Patch Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Grnd beef
  • 1 1/2 c. Minced onion
  • 1/2 c. Sliced celery
  • 2 c. Water
  • 16 ounce Kidney beans, rinsed and liquid removed
  • 14 1/2 ounce Stewed tomatoes
  • 1 c. Shredded cabbage
  • 1 tsp Chili pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Warm mashed potatoes, optional

Directions

    In a saucepan over medium heat, brown beef; drain.

    Add in onion and celery; cook till tender.

    Add in water, beans, tomatoes, cabbage, chili pwdr and salt; bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-30 min or possibly till cabbage is tender.

    Top each bowl with mashed potatoes if you like.

    Yield: 4-6 servings.
