  • 12 cabbage leaves, wilted in water until tender
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. instant rice
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • dash of hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tomato paste or tomato juice
  • 1 tsp. basil

Directions

    Mix well the first 8 ingredients with 1/4 cup tomato paste. Put 1/2 cup of meat mixture on each cabbage leaf. Roll or fold cabbage leaf around the meat mixture. Place in baking dish or can cook in crock-pot. Pour remaining tomato paste over top with the basil. Add about 1/2 cup water to the paste. Cook, covered, in oven about 1 hour at 350°.
