- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg
- 4 to 6 cabbage leaves
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. water
- oil
Directions

1Mix ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, salt, pepper and egg together.

2Trim off thickest part of stem from cabbage leaves. Divide meat into equal portions wrapped in a leaf, fasten with wooden picks.

3Brown cabbage rolls slightly in oil.

4Add tomato sauce and water.

5Cover and simmer slowly for 40 to 50 minutes.
