Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. basil
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

    Cut around core of cabbage.

    Put in pan of boiling water and wilt.

    Take leaves apart; cut thick part off leaves.

    Mix the filling and fill leaves.

    Fold over and pin with toothpicks.

    Put 1 big can tomato juice in heavy saucepan and let come to a boil. Add leaves and simmer 1 hour.

    Add 1 can of tomato sauce.

    Simmer until thick.
