Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. cooked rice
  • 6 large or 12 medium cabbage leaves
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Combine first 6 ingredients.

    Add meat and rice.

    Boil cabbage leaves 3 minutes or until limp.

    Drain; place 1/2 cup of meat mixture on cabbage leaf (1/4 cup for medium leaf).

    Fold sides under and roll up.

    Place in baking pan.

    Mix soup, brown sugar and lemon juice.

    Pour over rolls.

    Bake 1 1/4 hours, uncovered, in 350° oven.

    Baste occasionally.
