- 1 head cabbage (about 3 lb.)
- 1/2 c. rice
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/4 lb. bacon, diced and fried
- medium chopped onion, fried with bacon until golden
- 1 can tomato soup
Directions

1Cut a core in cabbage about 3 inches deep.

2Cook in a large kettle about 15 minutes.

3Let stand until cool enough to handle. Cook rice until partially tender.

4Cool, then add meat, egg, salt, pepper, bacon and onion; mix well.

5Separate cabbage leaves, put 1 tablespoon meat in each leaf.

6Roll up, tucking in ends.

7Place into a 4-quart pot.

8Mix tomato soup with 2 cans water.

9Pour over cabbage rolls and cook slowly for about 1 hour.
