- 12 large cabbage leaves, simmered in boiling water for 3 minutes
- 1 c. cooked rice (or instant)
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Directions

1Mix rice, water, salt, thyme, egg, onion and pepper.

2Mix in hamburger.

3Put 1/4 cup meat mixture in each cabbage leaf and roll up.

4Mix tomato sauce, lemon juice and brown sugar; pour on top. Simmer 1 hour in 350° oven.
