  • 5 lb. cabbage, washed and cut into wedges
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. salt
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. whiskey (any kind you have on hand)

    Add the whiskey and pour the mixture over the cabbage.
