Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1 c. French bread cubes, crusts removed
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 anchovy fillets, drained and chopped
  • 1 egg (raw)
  • 1 large head romaine or leaf lettuce, chilled or spinach
  • 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. crumbled Bleu cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Crush 1/2 clove of the garlic and combine it in a jar with the salad oil.

    Cover the jar and refrigerate the garlic oil at least 1 hour.

    Heat 2 tablespoons of the garlic oil in a medium skillet. Add the bread cubes and saute them until they are browned, stirring often, and set them aside.
