  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (No. 303) can fruit cocktail
  • 1/2 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.

    Add brown sugar, shortening, eggs, fruit cocktail (with juice) and cherry pie filling.

    Mix and pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips on top of batter.

    Bake for 40 minutes at 350°. After baking, sprinkle with desired amount of powdered sugar.
