California Wine Ice

Ingredients
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 bottle California Merlot
- juice of 1 orange
- juice of 1 lemon
Directions

1Add sugar and water in saucepan.

2Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved.

3Turn up heat and bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

4Pour syrup into a large container and cool completely.

5Add wine, orange juice and lemon juice.

6Stir with a whisk.

7Pour mixture into a cake pan or roasting pan; place it in the freezer.

8Once every hour, stir the mixture with a fork.

9After 5 to 6 hours the wine mixture will start to form small crystals and have the consistency of soft sherbet.

10(It should have a granular texture.)

11Serve a mound of the wine ice in a stemmed wine glass.
