- 4 cucumbers, pared
- 1 sweet Spanish onion, sliced
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. oil
- celery seed
Directions

1Score cucumbers lengthwise with tines of fork.

2Slice thinly and put in salted ice water with onion.

3Let stand 1 to 2 hours. Cook sugar and water over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool.

4Add vinegar and oil and mix well.

5Drain cucumbers and onion.

6Pour vinegar and oil mixture over them.

7Cover and refrigerate overnight.

8Sprinkle with celery seed before serving. Good with beans.
