- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 sq. baking chocolate
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream shortening and brown sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, add vanilla and beat well.

3Sift flour, salt and baking soda.

4Add to other mixture, alternately with the sour cream.

5Dissolve chocolate in boiling water.

6Cool chocolate and water mixture.

7Then add to flour mixture and fold in the walnuts.

8Bake in a greased pan for 30 minutes at 350°.
