- 60 apples
- 12 c. sugar
- 4 c. light Karo syrup
- 6 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 bottle red food coloring
Directions

1Have apples at room temperature.

2Wipe apples with clean, damp cloth.

3Insert stick 3/4 deep into apples.

4Combine all ingredients, except apples, in saucepan, sides of which have been buttered.

5Stir until it comes to a boil.

6Let cook without stirring until it reaches a hard crack stage (300°).

7Remove from fire.
-
8Dip apple in syrup and twist.

9Lift apple out and let excess syrup drip off.

10Place on buttered aluminum foil or cookie sheet. When cool, wrap with Saran Wrap or Baggies.
