- 6 sweet potatoes
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Cook sweet potatoes in their jackets in boiling salted water until nearly tender.

2Drain, peel and cut in slices about 1/2-inch thick.

3Place in a greased shallow baking dish and sprinkle with salt.

4Cook together brown sugar, water and butter in a separate pan for several minutes.

5Then stir in lemon juice and pour over potatoes.

6Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 20 to 25 minutes, basting occasionally with the syrup.

7Serves 4 to 6.
