  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. cream or tartar
  • several drops red food coloring

Directions

    Mix sugar, water and cream of tartar.

    Bring to a boil and cook until it reaches 300° on a candy thermometer.

    Do not stir while cooking.

    Add food coloring last.

    Keep fire low while dipping apples.

    Lay on a cookie sheet.

    Spread with Pam.

    Makes 12 to 15 medium apples.

    Make sure apples are washed and dried good.
