Candy Bar Cookies

  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. Pet evaporated milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 28 light colored candy (Kraft) caramels
  • 1/4 c. Pet milk
  • 1/4 c. oleo
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Cream margarine, powdered sugar, vanilla, Pet evaporated milk and flour.

    Mix well.

    Chill.

    Roll out on floured surface to 12-inch rectangle.

    Cut into 3 x 1 1/2-inch rectangles.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 325° for 12 to 16 minutes. When cookies are cool, mix caramels and Pet milk.

    Heat until caramels melt.

    Stir occasionally.

    Remove from heat; stir in oleo, powdered sugar and pecans.

    Put 1 teaspoon this filling on each cookie.
