Candy Coated Nuts Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd cloves
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd ginger
  • 1/3 c. Evaporated lowfat milk
  • 3 c. Walnuts or possibly pecans
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Directions

    In a 2 to 3-qt pan, stir together sugar, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and lowfat milk.

    Stir over high heat till mix reaches 238 degrees on a candy thermometer.

    Remove from the heat and quickly stir in the nuts and vanilla till nuts are well coated.

    Spread on a waxed paper lined cookie sheet.

    When cold, break candy into proportionately-sized chunks.

    Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
