- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. white syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 c. (16 oz.) peanuts
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 tsp. soda
Directions

1Mix sugar, syrup, water and butter in heavy 4-quart pan.

2Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.

3Put in a candy thermometer, continue cooking without stirring to 280°.

4Then stir in nuts gradually, stir occasionally and watch closely until mixture reaches 300°.

5Remove from heat and add soda gently, but quickly, stirring all in at once.

6Pour on 2 buttered cookie sheets.

7Do not spread!

8Cool and break.
