Cape Cod Cranberry Bread

- 1 1/2 c. fresh cranberries
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 1 egg
- 1/4 or 1/2 stick oleo
Directions

1Wash, drain cranberries and set aside.

2Mix the next 5 ingredients and put 2 tablespoons of this mixture aside to use later.

3Cut oleo into flour mixture.

4Beat together and add to flour the orange juice and egg.

5Put 2 tablespoons of flour into a sack and add cranberries.

6Shake until the berries are coated and fold into batter.

7Bake in a greased and floured pan for 1 hour at 350°.

8Let cool in loaf pan and remove.

9May add 1/2 cup nuts or 1 teaspoon grated peel to batter.
