- 32 caramels
- 5 Tbsp. cream
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. oatmeal
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 3/4 c. soft butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Directions

1Melt caramels in a double boiler with cream.

2Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, butter and salt until crumbly.

3Put half of crumbly mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350°.

4Put on chocolate chips, nuts (optional) and caramel mixture.

5Spread rest of dry mixture over the top.

6Bake 15 minutes more at 350°.
