- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 3/4 c. margarine
- 1 (14 oz.) bag Kraft caramels
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
Directions

1Mix cake mix with 1/3 cup evaporated milk and 3/4 cup melted margarine. Take half of the cake mixture and spread on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 375° for 5 to 7 minutes.

2Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk. After cake mixture is baked, sprinkle chocolate chips on top.

3Spread the caramel mixture over top.

4Drop remaining cake batter on top. Bake for an additional 15 to 18 minutes.

5Cool and cut into squares.
