- 1 German chocolate cake mix
- 14 oz. Kraft caramels
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in a medium-size saucepan, remove from heat.

2Melt butter.

3Mix cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts.

4Press half of batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° for 5 minutes.

6Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top; drizzle with caramel. Crumble with remaining batter on top of caramel.

7Bake an additional 15 minutes.

8The batter won't look done, but it is. Cool completely before cutting.
