- 3 cups sugar
- 3/4 lb Crisco
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1-1/4 cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions

1Cream sugar and Crisco; add eggs one at a time.

2Sift together dry ingredients three times; and alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

3Add vanilla.

4Mix well.

5Pour into four greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.

6Bake at 325 degrees until cake tests done.

7Top springs back when touched lightly.
