- 2 sticks butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 eggs yolks
- 3 cups Swans Down cake flour, sifted 3 times
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 (8 oz) sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 egg whites, beaten to soft peaks
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Mix dry ingredients together.

2Add to batter alternately with sour cream, mixing well. Add vanilla.

3Fold in egg whites.

4Mix well.

5Pour in 4 prepared round cake pans.

6Bake in preheated 315 degree oven for 15 to 30 minutes or until cake springs back when touched with fingers in center.
