Caramel Chex

  • 1 cup butter
  • 12 cup brown sugar
  • 14 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 (12 ounce) box Chex cereal
  • 2 brown paper bags

Directions

    Put two paper bags together (one inside the other).

    Pour the entire box of Chex into the bag(s) and set aside.

    Melt the butter, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan on med-high heat until boiling, stir constantly.

    Boil for 1 1/2 minutes.

    Pour the mixture on top of the Chex in the bag, roll down the top of the bag and shake well.

    Put the bag into the microwave for 20 seconds, remove and shake.

    Repeat step #6 four times.

    Spread the Chex onto a cookie sheet (works best on one with edges), lightly sprayed with butter-flavored Pam.

    Stir frequently as it cools, so it doesn't harden into one big clump.
