  • 1 pkg. (2 c.) light brown sugar
  • 1/2 lb. (2 cubes) margarine
  • 1/2 c. light Karo
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 qt. popped corn

Directions

    Put popcorn in larger roaster pan (I spray with non-stick spray).

    In saucepan, put brown sugar, margarine, Karo, salt and cream of tartar.

    Cook over medium to medium high heat, stirring constantly until hard ball stage (260° to 264°).

    Remove from stove; add soda and stir.

    Pour over popcorn and stir until covered.

    Put into 200° oven for 1 hour.

    Stir twice during this time.

    Dump on wax paper and separate to cool.

    Makes about 2 gallons.
