- 1 to 1 1/2 c. unpopped popcorn
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. corn syrup
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. raw Spanish peanuts
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. melted margarine or butter
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Put popped popcorn (1 to 1 1/2 cups unpopped) in warm 250° oven so when syrup is ready it is warm or syrup sets up too fast to coat popcorn.

2In large heavy pan mix sugar, corn syrup and water.

3Cook to 230°.

4Add peanuts (stir until finished).

5Cook to 280°.

6Add salt.

7Cook to 290°; remove from heat.

8Add butter; stir.
-
9It won't all mix in, do fast.

10Add soda; stir.

11Add vanilla; pour mixture over popcorn.

12Stir until coated.

13Pour popcorn on countertop or table to cool.

14Can make balls or just eat.
