Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. unpopped corn
  • 1 1/2 c. salted peanuts
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 3/4 c. butter

    Pop the corn.

    Put into a bowl. Add nuts.

    In 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, water, vinegar and salt.

    Heat to a boil on medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until 260° on candy thermometer.

    Reduce heat to low. Stir in butter until melted.

    Pour syrup over corn and nuts in thin stream, stirring until coated. Spread on buttered sheet to cool.
