Ingredients

  • 7 qt. popped popcorn
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. oleo
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. white syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. raw Spanish peanuts

Directions

    Pop popcorn and remove unpopped corn.

    Mix brown sugar, syrup, salt and oleo.

    Boil 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

    Add vanilla and soda and stir quickly.

    Pour over popcorn and mix well.

    Put in cake pans and bake at 250° for 1 hour.

    Stir 2 or 3 times.

    When cool, store in airtight container.

    May add raw Spanish peanuts before baking, if desired.
