Ingredients

  • 2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 qt. popped corn
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    In a 2 1/2-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar, corn syrup, oleo, cream of tartar and salt to boiling to 260°.

    Cook 5 minutes or more.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in baking soda thoroughly and pour over popped corn.

    Stir gently.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 200° for 1 hour.

    Stir 2 or 3 times.

    Put on waxed paper.
