Caramel Corn

  • 7 1/2 qt. popped, unsalted popcorn
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Cook in large saucepan over medium heat sugar, salt, syrup and margarine until soft ball forms when dropped in water (about 5 minutes).

    Add soda.

    Take corn from oven where it has been kept at 200° in a large pan since popping.

    Pour syrup mixture over corn and toss until all corn is covered.

    Return to oven for 1 hour.

    Stir every 15 minutes.

    When done, remove from oven, cool and store in plastic bags or an airtight container.
