- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 lb. margarine
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 6 qt. popped corn
Directions

1Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine, cream of tartar and salt in a 2 1/2-quart saucepan.

2Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

3Boil to 260° (hard ball stage); takes about 5 minutes.

4Remove from heat.

5Stir in baking soda, quickly, then pour over popcorn in a large roasting pan.

6Stir gently until all kernels are coated.

7Bake at 200° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

8Turn out onto waxed paper; spread apart and allow to cool.

9Store in tightly covered container.
