- 3 tablespoons peanut oil
- 4 tablespoons popcorn kernels
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- Water, to cover
- 1 cup salted peanuts, skins still on
Directions

1In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, heat oil and kernels over high heat, uncovered, until first pop.

2Cover and remove from heat for 1 minute.

3Return to high heat and shake until popping ceases.

4Sprinkle with salt and shake to distribute evenly.

5Measure 3 1/2 cups of popcorn, and reserve.

6Place sugar in a saucepan and add enough water to cover.

7Cook until caramelized and golden then stir in the reserved popcorn and peanuts.

8Pour onto greased sheet pan and break up slightly into clumps.
