- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. corn syrup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
- 6 qt. popped corn
- 1 to 1 1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Directions

1Boil butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla (this should foam).

2Pour over the popped corn.

3Bake in a large, buttered/greased, shallow baking pan(s) at 250° for 1 hour.

4Stir every 15 minutes and stir occasionally as it cools.
