- 5 qt. plain popped corn (1 c. unpopped corn, popped in 1/2 c. oil yields 5 qt. popped corn)
- 1 c. raw peanuts (optional)
- 1 c. margarine
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light Karo syrup
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Pop corn.

2Place in dishpan.

3Combine butter, sugar and syrup in a large pan; bring to a boil.

4Boil 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often.

5Remove from heat and add salt, soda and vanilla.

6(It will foam.)

7Pour over popcorn and stir to coat.

8Bake in oven at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

9Can be doubled or tripled.
