- 1 package chocolate cake mix
- 1 (14 oz.) package caramels
- 1/2 Cup butter
- 1 (14 oz.) package sweetened condensed milk
- 1 Cup coarsely chopped pecans

1Preheat oven to 350.

2Prepare cake mix as directed.

3Pour 2 Cups of batter into greased 13 X 9 inch pan.

4Bake 15 minutes.

5In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt caramels and butter.

6remove from heat.

7Add sweetened condensed milk.

8Mix well.

9Spread caramel over cake.

10Spread remaining batter over caramel.

11top with nuts.

12Bake 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
