- 3 c. sugar, divided
- 1/2 gal. milk, divided
- 6 to 10 eggs, beaten lightly
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 qt. heavy cream
Directions

1Heat 1 cup milk.

2Melt 1 cup sugar until light brown color. Add hot milk and stir until sugar is dissolved.

3Beat the eggs; add remaining milk, sugar and salt.

4Add to cooked mixture and cook until eggs are done.

5Cool mixture; add vanilla and thick cream.

6Finish filling can with milk or cream.

7Makes 1 1/2 gallons.
